President

Namaskara Yellarigu, Nanna hesaru Rajeev Chandrashekar, from namma ooru Bengaluru. I want to briefly introduce myself to you. I grew up in namma ooru, Bengaluru in a small family along with my sister, in a home where my father was a long-serving member of the Indian Air Force, my mother was a Registered Nurse, and my doddamma nurtured me to become the man I am today. I have been working as an Engineer for over two decades after completing my Master’s from M. S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (MSRSAS) and have always been an active Kannada sangha participant, which provided valuable insights into the Kannada community as well as understanding the need for a cultural connection from various Kannadiga’s perspective. While I truly enjoyed my four years on the WAKS committee, I am now inspired to do more. We have been residing in Australia since 2005. My wife Krupa and I began our married lives in Melbourne, where we built our first house together and made a lot of memories. In 2015, we relocated to Perth. We are in love with the city's culture and climate. My wife and I like taking our two boys on holidays so we can expose them to various cultures and people. We instill Indian values in our children and encourage them to embrace Kannada as much as possible. I am honored to have been elected as President of Western Australia Kannada Sangha (WAKS) for the years 2023–2025 and to lead an organisation that has grown into one of the most well-known non-profit Kannada Sangha’s in Australia with the support of everyone in the community. The purpose, vision, and values of WAKS resonate with me and are very similar to how each of you collaborates from across all different locations in WA to provide for our Kannada members.

Ramesh Srinivasaiah

Vice President

Namaskara, introducing myself as Ramesh Srinivasaiah, born and brought up in KARNATAKA's namma ooru, BENGALURU. I am married and blessed with a daughter. I was working for BOSCH (MICO) back in INDIA before relocating and always been involved in Kannada association's activities. Been in Australia (Perth) since 2012, I was very much inspired by the initiatives and the support done by WAKS to our community back in INDIA during the crisis. I am a self-driven person who enjoyed working as a volunteer in the WAKS events and recently as an executive committee member of WAKS, taking responsibilities in all the activities in making them successful. Now provided an opportunity, I have stepped ahead to contribute my service to WAKS as vice-president to showcase my strengths and abilities to my best in supporting and promoting Kannada and Karnataka culture, tradition and values. Also delivering my service to the united efforts making WAKS forge a pathway into the future generations and bring the entire community together.

Namaskara, I am Natraj Kalale, hailing from Bangalore and now a resident of Australia since 2008. Ever since WAKS started, I was an active member in the community, also being the first MC for the inauguration of WAKS. I embarked on a meaningful journey by initiating a small spiritual group alongside my close friends. This collective effort gradually evolved into a spiritual organization with the noble purpose of serving the divine. Over the course of 14 years, I diligently honed my skills in various aspects of cultural organisational management, thus amassing valuable experience. This accrued experience has become an asset that I carry forward. It was with this enriched background that I enthusiastically joined the Western Australia Kannada Sangha (WAKS). My motivation is deeply rooted in my unwavering aspiration to safeguard the cultural heritage and traditions of our Kannadiga community for posterity. Preserving these invaluable aspects for the upcoming generations is of paramount importance to me. WAKS reposed their trust in me, affording me the privilege to volunteer and actively contribute to the cause of Kannada community service in Perth. My commitment to this endeavor is underscored by a firm belief that our collective actions will forge a meaningful and lasting impact.
