| Western Australia Kannada Sangha (Inc.), in short WAKS, is the only registered Kannada association in Western Australia based at Perth, Australia and it is a non-profit and charitable organisation serving the Kannada speaking community in Western Australia. WAKS was inaugurated at Perth on 22nd August 2009. WAKS was formed for the people who directly or indirectly originated from the state of Karnataka known as “Kannadigas” including who speak other languages such as Tulu, Konkani, Coorgis, etc., as well as people who migrated to Karnataka from other parts of India. We are part of a multi-cultural society in Australia and WAKS strives to sustain a Kannadiga’s the Kannada culture, customs and ritual through our various programs. |

Finally the much awaited ‘Family fun day’ is here, WAKS is organising a Family Fun Day on 20-May-2012, Sunday at The Rise, Maylands from 9.30am to 2.00pm. This would be a wonderful occasion for a change from the day to day routine and an opportunity to interact with friends & families of Kannada community. This program is open for both members and non-members.Lunch will be provided. Details of the program are given below. Program: Family Fun Day Venue : The Rise, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands, WA 6051 Date & day: 20-May-2012, Sunday Time: Registration: 9.30am Program start: 10.00am Lunch break: 12.30pm-1.30pm Program end: 2.00pm
Fees: Members: Free. Non-Members: Single: $3.00 Couple: $5.00 Family: $10.00 (Husband, Wife & 2 kids) Please don’t miss it, there will be lots of fun games and activities for all age groups. Please come with family & friends and make this program a grand success. |

Monthly pooja :
1st Saturday of every month, WAKS hosts pooja & bhajane at Perth Hindu Temple , Warton Rd, Canning vale. Everyone is requested to participate in the prayers. Timing: 6:30 pm onwards |
